A recall is one way auto manufacturers like Mazda keep you safe in Macon and beyond. Should we find something amiss after you’ve purchased your vehicle, a manufacturer’s recall will be issued. Thanks to extensive safety testing from the NHTSA, we can better understand how cars, car seats, tires, and every part of a car react in an accident. Sometimes these tests also bring factory defects to light. When this happens you don’t have to worry about if your car has a recall on it. Mazda will notify you about any recalls and will pay to have the repair made at a certified Mazda service center. Even with notifications, though, it’s a good idea to periodically check for recalls on your car to make sure a message hasn’t been missed. Find out how with Five Star Mazda.
If your car is properly registered (as it should be by law), Mazda will be able to send you a notification of a recall when it’s found. It’s a good idea to check to see if there are recalls on your car now and then. All you have to do is search your car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Mazda recall page. The VIN is a number that’s unique to your car. You can find it in the lower driver’s side corner of your windshield, visible from the outside.
If you drive a Mazda that’s more than 15 years old in McDonough or Milledgeville, you’ll need to contact the Mazda Customer Relationship Center. The number is in your owner’s manual, but you’re welcome to contact us and we’ll give the number to you.

What constitutes a defect? The NHTSA defines a safety defect as any problem with a motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment that:
If you get a notification of a recall or find information through a search, your next step is to make an appointment with our service center to have the defect corrected at no cost to you.
